Texas Governor Greg Abbott praised President Donald Trump and the overall federal response to Hurricane Harvey on Sunday.

“A grade of A-plus, all the way from the president down,” Abbott told Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.

“I’ve spoken to the president several times,” Abbott said. “All across the board, from the White House to the federal administration to FEMA, they’ve been very helpful.”

When asked about the president’s personal engagement, Abbot said, “It’s been extremely professional, very helpful. He called and said, ‘Governor, whatever you need you’ve got.’”

Also on Sunday, Abbott tweeted to President Trump, “Thank you for the tremendous support you and your staff have provided Texas. Together we will overcome this challenge.”

The president was scheduled to visit Corpus Christi and Austin, the state capital, on Tuesday.
